Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Verified clubIn 2016, eighth-grade students at Roosevelt school founded Ayudando Abrigando. Since then, middle and high school students have led the nonprofit and kept its commitment to the mission alive.

Gutemberg School: Older Adults, El Agustino – Lima
Community outreach and volunteering: We had the opportunity to spend a fun morning with the grandparents of students from Gutemberg School.
Donation: 50 T-shirts, 50 caps.
Recycling: We exchanged experiences about different ways to recycle at home.

Gutemberg School, El Agustino – Lima
Community outreach and volunteering: Our volunteers interacted and played with the primary school children at Gutemberg School, sharing many hugs and smiles.
Donation: 170 blankets.
Leadership: We provided training to 120 parents on the correct ways to recycle and why it matters.

Iquicha – Ayacucho
Community outreach and volunteering: We traveled to Ayacucho to spend time with the community of Iquicha, 3,858 meters above sea level. The altitude tested our physical endurance, but we were rewarded with many smiles, hugs, and expressions of gratitude from the residents—children and adults—who received jackets and blankets to face the cold of Peru’s high Andes.
Donation: 1,200 blankets, 484 jackets.
Leadership: We had the support of military service members, who helped us transport the donations. We extend our special thanks to them.

School 6072: Morning Shift, Villa María del Triunfo – Lima
Community outreach and volunteering: After launching a fundraising campaign to support School 6072, we produced 400 jackets for the school uniforms. On delivery day, we spent the entire morning dancing, playing, and laughing with the children.
Donation: 400 fleece jackets for school uniforms.
Leadership: We met with the parents’ association to arrange for the jackets to be embroidered with the school’s logo.
Recycling: The students and parents collected 102 kilograms of PET bottles.
