We help the Peruvians who need it the most

We are a Non-Profit Civil Association (NGO), accredited by the Ministry of the Environment of Peru (MINAM) that helps the most needy Peruvians and protects the environment by recycling plastic bottles. We turn bottles into warm clothing (blankets, ponchos, socks, sweatshirts, polo shirts and hats), which we then donate to populations in extreme poverty.

We Create Awareness

Millions of Peruvians want to help, but they don’t always know how. At Ayudando Abrigando, we offer them a concrete way to support those in need and learn about the importance of recycling. In a country where recycling is still not a priority, we drive initiatives that promote environmental awareness, teaching the value of caring for the environment and reducing plastic use.

How did it all begin?

Our Story

It all started in 2016 with the dream of four teenagers who wanted a cleaner and more compassionate Peru. This is how Ayudando Abrigando was born, an NGO that turns plastic bottles into blankets for those in need. Since 2016, young leaders have driven this mission, bringing in new energetic and committed volunteers each year. Today, we are over 300 members in 9 educational centers in Peru and communities in the U.S. and Canada. More than just providing warmth, we build bonds with communities, bringing hope and a message of change. We continue to join forces for a warmer and more responsible world!

Passion for Helping

The simple acts in life are what complete our happiness. Behind each donation, there is hard work that requires hours of commitment. Despite everything, seeing the people and all their smiles when making a donation makes all our work compensate for an incredible experience. Our deliveries go beyond just delivering warm clothing. We believe that the most important thing is to create a relationship with the people we are helping. Moments like these fulfill us with joy. Having the opportunity to share with people from all over Peru shows us how culturally rich our country is and the wonderful people who are part of it.
