AYUDANDO ABRIGANDO

We help the Peruvians who need it the most

The mission of helping to warn is to recycle plastic bottles to create shelter garments that protect Peruvian communities in poverty. With a team of young people leading the NGO, we seek to generate social and environmental impact by promoting ecological awareness and a circular economy based on empathy and action.

We Raise Awareness

Millions of Peruvians want to help, but don’t always know how. At Ayudando Abrigando, we offer a tangible way to support those in need while learning about the importance of recycling. In a country where recycling is not yet a priority, we lead initiatives that promote environmental awareness—teaching the value of caring for the planet and reducing plastic use.

Did you know...

… that every day in Peru, 93,000 tons of solid waste are generated, and only 1.9% is recycled?

#BePartOfTheChange

We Educate. We Recycle. We Help.

Millions of Peruvians want to make a difference, but don’t always know how. At Ayudando Abrigando, we offer a concrete way to support those in need while learning about the importance of recycling. In a country where recycling is still not a priority, we lead initiatives that promote environmental awareness—teaching the value of protecting our planet and reducing plastic use.

How It All Began

Our Story

It all began in 2016 with the dream of four teenagers who wanted a cleaner, more caring Peru. Thus was born Ayudando Abrigando, an NGO that transforms plastic bottles into blankets for those most in need. Since then, young leaders have guided this mission, adding new, energetic and committed volunteers each year. Today, we have more than 300 volunteers in six educational centers in Peru, five in the US, one in Canada, and one in Colombia. More than just providing shelter, we build bonds with communities, bringing hope and a message of change. We continue to join forces for a warmer, more responsible world!

The Passion to Help

Simple acts in life truly complete our happiness. Behind every delivery lies hard work that requires hours of dedication. Despite the challenges, seeing the smiles of those we help makes all our efforts worthwhile, turning them into an incredible experience. Our work goes beyond just providing warm clothing. We believe that the most important aspect is building connections with the people we assist. Moments like these bring us immense joy. The opportunity to interact with people from all over Peru reveals the rich cultural heritage of our country and the wonderful individuals who embody it.
