Johannes Gutenberg School
“I first learned about the project in 2017, when we were collecting plastic bottles at school with the “Planet Defenders” kids. We were surprised to see that it was high school students who were leading the project so passionately. They already had a place where they collected bottles and turned them into blankets for families in need. The project deeply impacted us teachers and the students. Seven years have gone by and Ayudando Abrigando keeps growing. For us, it’s a privilege to continue contributing to the care of our planet.”

“Ayudando Abrigando has supported us so much by providing warm clothing to keep our children from suffering the cold—especially here, where the weather is very harsh. They always arrive with their big hearts to reach the most remote areas, bringing warmth to our families. They’re also always aware of the community’s needs. They visit us at Christmas and bring joy by playing with the kids, who wait eagerly for their return. We are truly grateful to them.”

“I met the young people from Ayudando Abrigando in 2017, when mudslides (huaycos) affected our community. They offered immediate support with warm clothing and humanitarian aid. Since then, we’ve built a beautiful friendship. Beyond helping us during disasters, they’ve also supported people with disabilities and families living in poverty through health and education initiatives. Today, they remain committed to our community, and I’m thankful for their efforts to improve our quality of life.”

“Ayudando Abrigando has always been with us here in La Rinconada, Pamplona Alta, especially during the most difficult times like the pandemic. I’m one of the many people who benefited from their support in those critical moments. We’re very grateful for the help they’ve given us—and continue to give. They always keep us in mind. May they continue helping those in need. May God bless them so they can keep moving forward. Thank you very much.”
