PET is a very common plastic throughout the world. It is found in most stores and supermarkets as it is used in a wide variety of products such as soft drinks, water bottles and rehydration drinks.

However, PET is highly polluting due to its resistance to biodegradation, taking up to 1,000 years to decompose.

Julián Siucho

In 2017, Julián Siucho Garofolin, a student at Colorado School of Mines, founded Caminando Ando, focused on recycling plastic to create socks and ponchos. Together with Pedro Brescia Hoffman, the initiative merged with Ayudando Abrigando, forming a single organization dedicated to responsible recycling and social aid. During this time, Ayudando Abrigando participated in international conferences and established partnerships with companies with which it continues to collaborate today.

In 2017, Pedro Brescia Hoffman, a student at The Wharton School of Business, founded Caminando Ando, focused on recycling plastic to create socks and ponchos. I joined Caminando Ando when I was 14 years old. I really enjoy skiing in the water and playing soccer. I really like having an impact on the lives of others and helping those most in need.
